I. Antonich”, earning second place in the poetry category.
The year 2006 marked an important milestone in Lesia’s life: she graduated with honors from Krasnohorivka Secondary School and enrolled in the Institute of Philology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. That same year, her first poetry collection, “C’est la vie” (Се Ля Ві), was published in Poltava with the support of the Department of Education of the Velyka Bahachka District Administration.
In 2007, selected poems by Lesia Shepel were included in the almanac of young Poltava authors, “Ostrovy” («Острови») and in the anthology “Preserve the Cathedrals of Your Souls” (“Собори душ своїх бережіть»), which showcased the best works of emerging writers from the Poltava region. In 2008, her poetry appeared in the student journal of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, “Svi-Y-Tanok”, and in 2011, was published in the almanac of young Ukrainian authors, “Spoluchnyk” («Сполучник»).
In 2012, Lesia Shepel graduated from the Institute of Philology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a Master’s degree in Philology (Ukrainian Language and Literature, English Language) with honors. She has worked as an editor and copywriter, creating advertising texts.
Today, Lesia continues her creative journey in literature, sharing her poetry on social media and preparing a new collection. Her artistic interests focus on intimate and philosophical lyricism. Her romantic poetry conveys a vivid palette of emotions and, like the canvases of Impressionist painters, is filled with colorful visual imagery and unexpected artistic details. Lesia skillfully conveys the depth of the human soul and inner dramas, moods and experiences, feelings of solitude, and love for the world and life in harmony with nature.
